Cross Country

We all did it a great job at our recent Croos Country day. It was a little muddy but we all tried our best and completed our run in record time.

Congratulations to Shiloh, who came third in the Year 1 girls
and Charlie who came third in the Year 1 boys.

Well done everyone, I was very proud of my fantastic runners!

Rio Olympics

It is Olympics time and Room 3 have been supporting our Kiwi athletes from afar.

We have written some interesting stories about the events and have enthusiastically been keeping a record of how many medals a few countries have won.

We watched on the big screen Mahe Drysdale getting his gold medal and gave him a special round of applause. We have also discussed the other medal winners, their sports and how they must feel being at the Olympics.

We also watched live Usain Bolt running his very fast race. Wow!!

Happy 100th day of school

It was party day in Room 3 today and what a great day we had :)

We were celebrating because we have now been at school for 100 days! We are now 100 days smarter.

We started the day by building a pyramid with 100 cups.

Then we went to the gym with Room 1, we had lots of fun with the basketballs, tennis balls, hoops and skipping ropes.

Then we all lined up and walked for 100 steps to see how far we would get.

When we went back to the classroom we made 100 day crowns, on the crowns we had to stick 10 dots on 10 strips of paper. We talked about how 10 x 10 = 100.

Then it was time for our shared lunch, everyone had bought aong something to share and it was all so very yummy.

To top off an exciting party day, Room 1 joined us in the afternoon for a disco!!

We all went home with big smiles after a great 100 day party day :)

Learning with the iPads

Welcome back to term 3, it was great to see everyone and their smiley faces after the holidays.

This week we got the iPads out to have a little play and explore. We were learning how to turn on the ipad, how to find and select a memory game to play. As we were playing with a partner, we were also learning to take turns, be patient and to watch carefully.

We will be exploring more of the apps available on the school iPads in the next few weeks,
