ICT with Mr Gover

Basketball stars
We have been very lucky lately because we have had Lawrence come to take us for basketball training. On the first day we learnt how to dribble the ball, using our fingers to push the ball downwards. We were also practicing ball control by carefully moving the ball around our legs.
Last week we were split up into teams and learnt all about teamwork, supporting our teammates and working together. We had to line up and pass the ball along the line by moving it under our legs, over our heads, under, over, under, over. When the ball got to the end of the line, the last person had to dribble the ball forward and we continued. We quickly learnt that the key was being alert. helping each other and thinking about what we were doing.

Getting used to school
It has been a busy couple of weeks in Room 3. There have been lots of new things for the children (and me!) to learn. But I am thrilled with how they have settled, become familiar with new routines, have made new friends and have been learning :)
In maths we have been sorting and graphing objects. The children have enjoyed grouping different things, counting up the objects and creating a graph to show their results.
They particularly enjoyed graphing a bag of M&Ms and discussing which colour M&M was represented the most and least.
We have plenty of exciting things coming up in the next few weeks so remember to check in often to see what we have been doing.
